Lion Sunny Beach

The service was excellent, and everything was very clean. Food was fresh and had quite a bit of variety. On warm days, though, the air conditioning didn't work very well. Guests left sunbeds unused and blocked off, and nobody did anything about it. Staff, please put up signs asking people to rinse before getting into the pool.

The reception man was friendly and helpful when we had to switch the double bed we'd accidentally ordered to twin beds. The food was tasty, and beer and wine were on tap. Just be careful when you leave the table to get drinks: staff clear tables really quickly, so it's better if someone stays behind. Seagulls also swoop down to steal food. I fed a few stray cats that wander outside the restaurant. Restaurant staff didn't smile much, so I'm not sure they like their jobs. The woman at the money exchange counter seemed the same. It could get noisy outside when the all-inclusive hotel behind us had a party night.

We spent a week here at the end of August. The elevator worked, meals tasted good, and there were always enough tables for breakfast and dinner. One thing I didn't like was asking for tea during dinner. They just said no without even trying to make the customer happy. There were no slippers in the room, and we only got shampoo and shower gel once, at the start of our stay. We're an easygoing young couple and don't make a big deal out of little things, so we still enjoyed our stay 😊

At peak season, the dining setup really lets the hotel down. There weren't enough tables, so people queued, and too few drinks stations at breakfast and dinner caused big lines. A simple staggered dinner schedule, with some guests eating from 6 to 7 and others from 7 to 8, could fix much of this and might turn a lot of poor reviews into five-star stays. The rest was lovely. The location is fantastic, far enough from the main area to be quiet but still a short walk from the lively part. The accommodation was beautiful, clean, functional, pleasant, and had a great pool.
