Meliá Sunny Beach Resort

We were already planning a return to Melia while waiting for our airport shuttle. What made the holiday so relaxing and fun was the staff, especially the Animation Team. I loved the daily yoga and tai chi with Papi, who’s a great instructor. Stan and Emo always had time for a quick chat between activities, and their enthusiasm was infectious. Vasy from the Kid’s Club is an absolute sweetheart. We didn’t get to interact much since we weren’t travelling with children, but it was lovely to see her at the evening shows. Christian, one of the Pool Bar bartenders, also deserves a mention. His funny, friendly manner made ordering our third cocktails before noon feel less shameful. The cocktails were genuinely great, and he was fun to talk to and shared useful local info for our more touristy plans. I’ll remember my best friend fondly. The food was absolutely delicious, with phenomenal variety and quality even before the proper start of the season. The Indian restaurant made some of the best masala chai I’ve ever had. The gym isn’t huge, but has enough equipment to cover the basics, and I loved the indoor pool. We arrived before the season started, so I can’t say much about the beach area. The location is a big plus, though, close to the beach and just a short bus ride from Nessebar. I’d definitely recommend Melia and hope I can return someday.

The restaurant team, especially the chefs, were always happy to tell us which food was halal and which wasn’t. We were surprised by how much halal chicken there was. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the catering staff. As a visibly recognisable Muslim family, with my wife and daughter wearing hijab, we weren’t sure what to expect when we arrived at Sunny Beach and were quite reserved. To my delight, the reception staff, chef and restaurant team, kids’ club staff, and cleaners were all incredibly polite and kind. They made us feel truly welcome. We loved the hotel, and I’m so grateful we visited your beautiful country and made such wonderful memories there.

The atmosphere at the hotel kept our spirits up through the questionable weather during the first few days. My friends and I had a fantastic stay, and I’ve never felt so rested or full of positive energy as I did after time with the animation team. Pavlin (Papi), Emil (Emo), Vasilena, and Stan made the holiday unforgettable, with exciting activities and good experiences. They also helped us learn more about the beautiful area while we relaxed. Hrystiyan and Ertan made the best drinks in the world. They know how to mix things perfectly so they taste amazing. The food was incredible too, all delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The area itself has fresh air, beautiful views, and a great atmosphere. This was my first holiday abroad, and thanks to these people, I’m sure it won’t be my last!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here. We travelled with someone who has a disability, and the staff couldn’t have done more to meet our needs. Send them a quick email once you’ve booked so they can accommodate you as best they can. The staff were attentive and tried to meet every request when possible. Our children enjoyed the pools, slides, pool tables, snack bar, and the animation team’s shooting activities. We didn’t have any smaller children with us, but you could see how well the team kept them entertained each day. Please pass my compliments to Hrstiyan at the poolside bar for his top-class customer service, great personality, and sense of humour. People like him make the Melia a great place to stay.
