Hotel Via Trayana

It's pet friendly, our friend brought their dog, and there are a few parking spots outside. The hotel is about 1 km from the nearest ski slope and has a restaurant and sauna. The rooms are dated but comfortable, with good heating in winter. The hairdryer shown in the pictures isn't great, and there's no shampoo or body wash, so bring your own toiletries. WiFi isn't good here.

I paid 7 leva for mulled wine, then was told I had to pay another 2 leva just to use the toilet. The waitress asked if I considered what I'd ordered to be consumption. Bravo. Good luck.

I went from the rink to get some tea. She rang it up as cash but didn't give it to me. She was extremely rude and arrogant. I waited patiently while she served people who'd come after me, and she rudely said goodbye while waiting for me to finish my slice. She asked twice how much tea I wanted while she was munching, but didn't ask how I planned to pay, and I obviously had no money in my hands. In the end she didn't serve me because she couldn't ring it up again as a card payment.

This is the best sledding spot around this part of the Stara Planina Mountains. Little kids, adults, older people, grown-up kids, even dogs can all enjoy it!
