The restaurant really stood out: the food was genuinely delicious, the young staff did a great job, and the Greek music kept things pleasant without being loud. Our hotel was clean and had a beautiful lake and mountain view. It’s also kid friendly. We’ll be back.

The kids had fun with both the indoor play corner and the outdoor trampoline, and breakfast had plenty of choices. We had no issues with the rooms. Just know that payment is cash only and both the reception and front entrance close at 23:00. The indoor kids corner is separated from the restaurant by a staircase.

I couldn't make the trip for personal reasons, which can happen to anyone, but the property wouldn't work with me. They could have made an exception to the policy, but chose not to. The answer from Booking was: "Although there's a charge associated with this cancellation, we asked Tryavna Lake Hotel & SPA to make an exception. We haven't received a response from them yet." Really disappointing.

The location and view were great, and our studio was spacious. That’s about where the positives ended. The rooms were full and smelled like mold. The food was nasty, and the staff seemed reluctant to do anything if you could find them.

The apartment was a good size, but the bathroom had black mold and there was no lift. We stayed nine nights, and they only cleaned once, after I asked. They seemed surprised I’d requested it. Breakfast was poor and exactly the same each morning, with flies on it. People smoked in the restaurant even with small kids around. The pool wasn’t very clean, and the water was sometimes cloudy.
