The people are nice, it’s quiet, and the restaurant is very good. But the setting is such a shame: all you see are ugly, run-down Soviet apartment blocks and laundry blowing from the balconies. The hotel is near a cliff above the river, though you have to walk to get there. It’s awkwardly placed between the upper and lower parts of town, so getting there without a car is difficult. I can’t imagine why they built it in this neighborhood.

We booked at the last minute for family reasons, and the place met our expectations for the money. The room was roomy and cozy, with everything we needed for two nights. The staff service could use a little attention, and the place could do with some renovation.
