Party Hotel Golden Sands

We had a lot of fun at the pool bar each day, especially with Carolina, who kept us supplied with music and drinks and made sure we had a good time. The bars and party clubs were great, and the staff treated us really well. It’s a great hotel for the price, definitely recommended.

Emilia was always cheerful and went out of her way to make us feel welcome, and the rest of the staff were kind and helpful too. We thought the price was well worth it, and the all-inclusive food had plenty of tasty options, with good drinks as well. The pool was clean, though the sunbeds go quickly unless you claim one early in the morning. Our room was comfortable and well equipped, with a roomy balcony that was lovely to sit on. It was cleaned every day and came with fresh towels and linen. Wi-Fi worked well. The hotel was generally kept in good condition, but in the restaurant the plates and cutlery were often not clean enough, and I wiped them myself more than once. We spent a very happy week here and would gladly come back. The hotel is near the sea, but reaching the beach means going down a flight of stairs, which could be difficult for older guests or families with little children. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, although the streets have quite a bit of litter, which isn’t the hotel’s responsibility.

We came with a group for a party trip, and we’ve stayed in much better places on earlier visits, even allowing for the generally low hotel standards in Golden Sands. I wouldn’t recommend this one. It was only bearable with alcohol. The food was mostly poor, sometimes disgusting, though there was basic meat, pizza and fresh vegetables to fall back on. The hotel itself was passable but old and badly maintained. The pool water looked gloomy, the bar area could go days without being swept, and there wasn’t much room around the pool. Our room had a dated but acceptable style, but was in bad shape, with wires coming out of the wall, loose fittings and broken AC. Although we booked all inclusive, things felt restricted. The pool bar didn’t open until 11am, and the bar staff were slow and inefficient. Promoters were allowed into the hotel grounds, which was annoying. Stairs nearby lead down to the beach, around a 15-minute walk at an easy pace. They also took our passports and a 100€ room deposit, and we had to hand in the room key whenever we left the hotel.

We always leave a little sad, knowing we’ll have to wait another year to come back, but we go home rested and happy. My family and I have chosen this place for three years running whenever we’re asked where we want to spend a holiday together. It feels cozy and comfortable, almost like home, and the hotel is kept very clean. The staff are friendly and good at what they do. Once I wanted a particular cocktail but couldn’t remember its name, and the bartenders understood what I meant from just a few words. The management is also kind and ready to help with problems, though we haven’t had many. The chefs deserve a special thank you for their wonderful food. Prices feel fair for the quality of service.
