Windhoek Resort Bonaire

It was such a lovely change of pace, with the feel of a small family community. Methelda and Camila were wonderful hosts and gave us great suggestions for beaches, activities, and restaurants.

We only spent one night here on the way home, and wish we'd stayed at the start of our trip too instead of at another resort nearby. It's a calm, beautiful place, just the right size for us since we prefer smaller boutique spots to huge, crowded resorts. The staff were lovely, and the location worked perfectly. Everything felt thoughtfully arranged and seamless, from the airport transfer and welcome drinks to the pool, honesty bar, and even the electric bug zapper tennis racquet in the bedroom. The rooms were lovely as well. We'd definitely come back.

The pool was a highlight for us. It's between the bungalows, and since this is a small place, it was never crowded and often empty when we went. The staff really made the stay, though. When a few small issues came up, they got on them right away. They also arranged a late checkout without us asking and paid for a taxi to the airport. Windhoek is a quiet, beautiful place with friendly, attentive staff, but it's outside the city center, so you'll want a car. You get a shaded parking spot assigned to your bungalow number. Each bungalow is private and has a large shaded porch and hammock. The room is a decent size, with a very large shower and a separate toilet. It's open plan, so there are no doors between the bed area and shower. The kitchen is in its own section, which is nice because you don't want that heat in the bedroom. I'll definitely stay here on my next visit.

We had a great stay at Windhoek with our group of four. The villas were meticulously cleaned and well stocked, which made it easy to prepare some of our own meals, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area is beautiful and often quiet. Getting around by car from Windhoek was easy. We liked being able to walk to bachelor’s beach for a swim, and Sorobon is just a short drive away for windsurfing. Renting a car directly from the resort was easy too. Looking forward to going back to Bonaire soon!
