Hotel Hacienda de Kaluyo

It’s a very peaceful place if you want to rest by yourself. The staff were warm and helpful, and there’s a pretty park with flowers, a nice solarium, and a swimming pool, though it was cold and I didn’t swim. There are also beach volleyball and football courts and a games room with pool tables. The food was simple, home-style cooking, with good soups and fresh juices. There’s a simple, nice Chappell, a glass-walled dining area and bar outside, and parking. The building is large, with few but huge rooms, especially the main suite, which is too big. There’s also a meeting room on the first floor. The hotel is remote, about an hour from Cochabamba city and 15 minutes from the lake, with little else around and nothing for teenagers. The rooms and high ceilings felt bare, with no decoration and cold, poor lighting. During the nights from 4 to 9 June 2018 it was extremely cold. There’s no central heating, just a couple of unused fireplaces. There are no elevators or wheelchair ramps, and getting large or heavy luggage to the main suite on the first floor is a challenge. The internet connection was weak, unstable and open. My Gmail account was hacked 30 minutes after I connected to the hotel’s open service.

Such an amaaaazing place. Totally recommended!
