The garden is beautiful, and the location is central. It’s a 20 minute walk to La Cancha, two blocks from plaza principal, with higher end restaurants to the north. The rooms are comfortable, and there’s a kitchen for cooking. You do have to close the curtain for privacy, but it’s nice to open the windows during the day and look out at the garden. Warm showers, too. I left some things behind at checkout in a scattered brain moment while traveling solo. The staff held onto them, and I called and got everything back from reception. They’re trustworthy. I really recommend this hostel in Cochabamba, especially since you can’t beat the price.

The garden was pretty, and the place itself was quite nice. My clean room had a big window, but it did nothing to block the noise. There are lots of bars nearby, so I didn’t sleep at all. Not somewhere to stay if you have plans the next day.

Very, very bad hostel. If you can afford another place, I’d definitely avoid ñaupa hostel. We booked a room for two and got one with no window and no ventilation, so there was barely enough air to breathe. It was full of mosquitoes, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The sheets looked yellow rather than grey, and I was glad I’d brought my sleeping bag. The toilets were dirty and had no toilet paper. The showers were cold, with only a trickle of water. Around 10 pm I went to use the bathroom and found it locked. At reception, the woman told me, “because it is closed.” After about five minutes of talking, I finally got her to give me the key. There’s also a bar at the back, so don’t expect quiet before about 2 am. Breakfast was a joke, just one dry piece of bread and half a spoon of butter per person. Worst of all, everyone working there was incredibly unfriendly. They never greeted us, even though we greeted them every time, and acted like our being there was an affront.

The room was right next to the Gopal restaurant, so we could always hear people talking. The fly screen was partly broken too, and we ended up with lots of mosquitoes in the room. For the price, though, it’s a good hostel.

The included breakfast was a joke, and the staff were quite unfriendly. I paid 210 Bolivianos for a very shabby room with no windows. For the money, this was one of the worst hostels I’ve visited in South America. Don’t go!
