A simple, clean hostel where you can stay with a local family. The facilities are basic but comfortable, and it’s a good place to disconnect and enjoy a few quiet days. The island is very rural, and tourism is growing alongside the local community. Silvia was lovely and shared the island’s history with us. That conversation became one of my favourite memories from Bolivia.

Getting there takes a bit of walking, but we thought it was well worth it. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the family who run the place were lovely. Breakfast was tasty, especially with the view. Our beds were comfortable, there were lots of blankets for the cold nights, and the shower was hot. We had a great couple of nights and can’t recommend it enough.

From our room, the view straight to the snow-capped mountains of Cordillera Real was breathtaking. This family-run hostel was great value, with reliable Wi-Fi, a clean and cozy room, and a generous breakfast. Most of all, the family were warm and incredibly helpful. I’d highly recommend staying here!

You have to climb a long set of stairs to reach this lovely village, but it’s worth it once you arrive. The place feels special, the views are unbelievable, and you’re greeted with smiles and warm hospitality. I’d absolutely recommend it.
