Hotel Imperio Del Sol

The rooms were nice and the view truly breathtaking. Breakfast was fine too: bread, butter, jam, fried eggs, juice, plus tea or coffee. We liked sitting around the shared table and chatting with the other guests. Getting checked in was a mess. We'd booked by phone and confirmed our arrival time several times, but somehow the guy forgot us. He didn't show up when I contacted him again, and after searching we found a woman who seemed to be in charge. Check-in took ages, then nobody could find the room keys, so we waited again. Almost an hour after arriving, we could finally go walk around the island. They gave us one small towel for two people and brought another only after we asked. The worst part was that they didn't tell us the warm shower only worked from noon until late afternoon for some reason. Other guests had been told, but not us, and we were freezing in the evening. In our view, the place was below average and not recommendable.

We arrived without booking ahead, and the friendly owners found us a room for the night. It's a good hotel in the middle of the village. The room was fine, and we slept well after hiking around the island, even without heating. Breakfast was very good too. They came outside to say goodbye when we left in the morning.

We thought this hotel would be cheap, but it really wasn't. The food they serve was very expensive, and having tea there turned out to be a mistake because it gave us food poisoning. One of us didn't make it to the bathroom in time and was sick in the garden. After I'd left the room, the owner stormed in and shouted at my girlfriend, making her cry and humiliating her. He aggressively told her to leave the island immediately. It ruined a trip we had really been looking forward to. We urge you to stay somewhere else while exploring this beautiful island.

It was terrible to see how guests were treated at this hostel. I got the impression they didn't want guests at all, or only guests they could completely control. Not recommended.
