The room situation was a mess. They first put us on the first floor in a windowless room that smelled awful. When I pointed out the listing said rooms had a “view on the garden,” the woman said everything else was booked, even though Booking showed three rooms still available. After I mentioned my dust allergy, she somehow found us a room with a window. The owner was giving her instructions from his bedroom, then came out only to check the price on my booking reservation because they were trying to charge us more. The woman who “welcomed” us was strange and impolite. Later, around 11pm, she suddenly got chatty and laughed with the owner just across from our room for about half an hour. I politely told her guests were sleeping, but she didn't seem to get it. There's far too much noise, especially by reception, and it made sleeping at night impossible. And the bathrooms were in a terrible state too.

Avoid this place. They charged me a very high exchange rate, then canceled my reservation on booking so they could avoid paying their fees and deny me the right to leave a review. I can prove I stayed there, and I've already complained to booking. The bed was very old and uncomfortable. The floor was noisy, and people talked loudly for most of the night. The “buffet” breakfast was just old, hard bread.

The street was quiet, and the place is close to plaza España. My room was clean and had a desk for working, and the property has a garage for two cars. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was nice, though you need to get there early.

The rooms and showers were warm, and breakfast was good. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi was generally fine, although sometimes it stopped working altogether. It was a good stay.
