Hotel Rosario La Paz

Hotel Rosario made a great base for exploring La Paz. It’s right in the heart of the city, steps from the Witches’ Market and near San Francisco Church and Plaza Murillo. The rooms were clean and nicely equipped, with Andean details that added charm. The radiators kept things cozy on chilly nights at high altitude. Staff were friendly and attentive, and helped with useful sightseeing tips and arranging activities around La Paz and beyond. I had a fantastic stay and would happily return.

My flight got in late, and even at 3:30am the check-in was A1. Henry and the team kept in touch and arranged for someone to meet my delayed flight at El Alto airport, despite my odd arrival and departure times. The rooms were very nice, the staff answered my few questions, and breakfast was lovely. I’ve visited La Paz before, and this spot is a few minutes’ walk from the centre with everything close by. I highly recommend Rosario for a night or a longer stay.

The hotel is lovely, and most of the employees we met were friendly. But after our two-night stay, we booked a Uyuni tour through their agency. They said they could get us a room early when we returned, knowing we’d be tired. We arrived at 7, and a receptionist we hadn’t seen before said there would be no room until 2. He offered a single room for the three of us for 50 dollars until check-in. The rude, upsetting attitude was a big contrast with the other staff. I can’t recommend the hotel, as it felt like they were trying to charge as much as possible. It may depend on which reception staff you get.

The room was on the small side, but the bed, shower, and heater were all nice. I also liked the Spanish architectural style. The kitchen was excellent for both dinner and breakfast, and the staff were superb.
