After a night bus, I was hoping for a dorm bed. Booking and Hostelworld both showed availability, but they offered me only a private room with a shared bathroom. It smelled strongly of smoke, despite the hostel supposedly being non-smoking. I asked several times in my limited Spanish and tried Google Translate, but kept being told there were no dorms. Later I saw an empty dorm being cleaned, and felt like I’d been scammed. The chain’s contact was polite and responsive, and I’d had a good experience at their Sucre location. Still, this left me frustrated and feeling taken advantage of.

The staff were lovely, and the breakfast was good. The location is really good too. It’s nice and comfortable, just don’t expect luxury.

The location was great, and the common areas looked pretty, but the breakfast wasn’t very good. My room was okay when I stayed in March, though the lack of hot water was a big problem in the cold weather. I asked reception and was told there should be hot water, but after running it for about five minutes, it was still cold. The sink also leaked and flooded the bathroom whenever I used it. I wouldn’t recommend it. With these problems, the price wasn’t worth it.

After my tour, they even let me use the shower for free. I felt very comfortable during my stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hostal was super clean, cozy, and in a good location. Breakfast was very good too. Highly recommended!

At Hotel Casona de Potosí, I felt welcome from the moment I arrived. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, which made the place feel welcoming and trustworthy. I had a very pleasant stay.
