Marriott Santa Cruz de la Sierra Hotel

The staff are attentive, and the breakfast is varied and very good. The location is excellent. My room was quiet, but being close to the elevators still affected my experience. The towels felt a bit rough, so perhaps a different detergent would improve things.

I went straight from the airport to the hotel, but the staff tried to push me toward expensive upgrades, saying there were no rooms available. Booking.com and other sites showed king rooms available, and I was checking online at Reception as a Marriott Bonvoy member, with different room types listed for all four of my dates. The hotel looked empty. Very disappointing approach and handling from Marriott. Date: 3-feb-2026 9:30-10pm

Santa Cruz wasn't on my itinerary during my 17-day Bolivia trip, but I got sick and needed to stay at a lower altitude. The hotel was nice and the staff were very helpful. My spa appointment, though, was far from relaxing. The therapist was on her phone before and during the treatment, and the room was cold. They gave her only a towel for clients to lie under, not a blanket. When I asked about a sheet, she said they don't provide any. I don't know why she couldn't ask her manager, especially since I made a point of asking. Someone kept knocking to bring her equipment, including a facial steamer, while I was trying to relax. It was chaotic. I think she's a good masseuse, but the whole atmosphere was much too disruptive for a relaxing treatment.

We had a very early departure, and the staff kindly packed breakfast for us to take along. The front desk team were friendly and helpful, and the hotel has spacious, clean rooms with nice views, a beautiful lobby, a good restaurant, and a fun pool and gym. It's about 25-30 minutes from the airport when there's no traffic. We also had an excellent dinner at Toborochi. The food was creative, unusual, and delicious, and both the waiters and bartender were really friendly. A solid Marriott and a lovely evening.
