Hostal Valle Hermoso

The room was fine, nothing special, and this is an okay hostel for a stopover. Bathrooms were often out of soap and toilet paper, so bring your own. The rooftop is nice for sharing a bottle of wine or 3, and that makes the place worthwhile.

Getting around was easy since it's near both the bus terminal and city center. The hot water was excellent, and I found the stay comfortable. I spent two days here while trekking through Macho Valley. The hostel staff were all friendly, greeting me with warm smiles and giving me plenty of information and guidance. There are several good restaurants nearby, which is one of the joys of traveling.

Gabby at the desk was amazing, spoke perfect English, and was so helpful. That makes all the difference. The hostel is a great choice in Tupiza, with comfortable rooms, hot showers, and breakfast available on request. I also had an amazing tour of the local rock formations. Really good price for tupiza.

The place clearly wasn't cleaned often. We found an old used female hygiene pad under the bed in our room. It was dirty, toilet paper was rarely restocked, and the toilets were often locked, so we had to use one on another floor.
