The central location was the main thing going for this place. It’s right by the bus terminal, with restaurants and the main plaza an easy walk away. Breakfast was perfectly fine, just toast, a fried egg, and coffee. The shower had hot water, though the bathroom and the rest of the property felt dated. I was there for two nights and wouldn’t come back. There was no heating or extra blanket, and the room got freezing at night in the desert climate. I ended up sleeping in a fleece. Staff were inattentive and not much help. They only take cards, which is awkward in Bolivia where cash is common, and paying that way means the official exchange rate, so $10 USD a night felt too expensive. For a hostel, there wasn’t much of a social atmosphere or a decent shared place to relax or meet other travellers. They arrange tours, but their prices seemed clearly higher than those at nearby agencies. It was a cold, uncomfortable, forgettable stay for the money. There are more welcoming options nearby.

We stayed two nights before our salt flat tour. The location is right in the centre, and the staff were nice. Everything was very clean, and breakfast was great, with eggs cooked fresh and freshly squeezed juice. Some rooms look onto the atrium, so they don't get direct outdoor daylight, but the big windows there bring in light and air. They also offer tours around Tupiza and toward the Uyuni Salt Flats.

Roberto and his family made the stay really enjoyable, and the cooks made delicious breakfasts every day. They arranged my whole trip, from lagoons, volcanoes, and geysers to the Uyuni salt flats, with Heriberto and Silvia among the best people around. I came away with great memories of both the excursions and the stay.

The room, breakfast, and location were all excellent. Thanks for everything, Irma!

Good value, with friendly staff and a handy location. It was quiet, the bedding was comfortable, and the shower was hot. The room did feel a bit cold and dark.
