We had a wonderful honeymoon stay at Bonaire Fun & Tropicana. Robert was a fantastic host, and we really appreciated all the work he and the staff put in. They made us feel at home, like locals, and gave us great suggestions for dinner spots and snorkeling places. It was one of our best stays so far, and we hope to return someday. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for everything you did. A big hug from us, Natalie & Michael Tange

We rented a two-bedroom apartment. One room had a Full Size bed, which was fine. The other had two twin beds that couldn't be separated, so we had to move one of the mattresses into the living room.

The people were nice, and Hoge had good information. We rented a clean, nice studio with hot water in the shower. We left all our dive gear and air bottles in the room beyond, which belongs to wannadive, where we rented the equipment. Nice place.

Sun, diving, and fun! BonBini to Bonaire FUN! I spent this year's Bonaire trip staying between dives at Bonaire Fun Apartments and The Dive Hut. It's close enough to walk into town, but far enough out too. The sun's afterglow is still with me back in Canada, and it feels like we brought the sunshine home. The week before our trip had been freezing, with freezing rain and temperatures around -30C. I'd stayed with the gang at Bonaire Fun Apartments before, so I was looking forward to the fun, plus the sunrises and sunsets from the rooftop terrace. A two-week stay there didn't work out, but Roland and Irene came through for us. We spent the first week in a regular room at The Dive Hut, then moved to our own apartment on the Bonaire Fun Apartments property. The hotel room did the job and put us close to breakfast at The Dive Hut restaurant each morning, from 8am to 10am. There's a rooftop terrace there, where my partner did yoga every morning. It's also a good spot for drying a wetsuit in the Bonaire sun and wind. Our other gear went in the separate, securely locked dive locker. Rinse tanks were right there, as was a generous supply of full tanks, so getting out to dive each day was easy. Coming back from a night dive to a warm shower was another plus. Something Special is so close that you can be back in minutes after diving there. Diving is simple: check the dive guide, choose a site, find the yellow rock, pull in, get suited up, and go. Then rinse and repeat. If a site is rough or crowded, another is only metres away. This year we had some great dives behind the oil tank complex to the north and in the national park. More Europeans seem to be discovering the island. I met quite a few on this trip and felt jealous that I only know two languages. The staff were able to help everyone in their own language, as far as I saw. The Dive Hut runs a Mexican-themed restaurant on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. El Bigote was delicious, with hard work from the kitchen and bar making for a great meal. Make reservations! We also did our mandatory lunches in Rincon at Roses and Maiky's Schnack, both always good local food. Getting here from Canada was easy this time, with no transfers in Aruba or Curacao. Sunwing had a direct flight that took 4.5 hours. Loved it, more time for diving! Irene arranged a drive-and-dive package for us with Avis and Wannadive. Everything went smoothly, from arriving at Flamingo International to our first checkout dive at Eden Beach with Wannadive. Thanks for organizing it, making us feel welcome, and adding those special touches. If you visit and need something, just ask. They always make it happen. Thanks to Irene, Roland, Derk, Harrie, and all the background elves for a lovely island stay. Looking forward to the next trip. The in-ground pool, whose construction and patio had just gotten started, should be a great place to relax after a day of diving by then.

The beach is close, and downtown is an easy trip too. Everything I needed was there, the place was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
