Capitanias Hotel

The hotel has a lot going for it. The landscaping and natural setting are immaculate, the pools are excellent with lovely views, the live music was pleasant, and the sports courts were good and came with balls to use. Staff were generally polite and helpful. Sr. Severino especially stood out: he welcomed us warmly and told us about the property's history and crops, which made for a really enriching experience. We stayed over Carnival, and until checkout the visit had been mostly positive. Then we were charged an unexplained fee that shouldn't have been there. When we asked about it, management kept pushing back and discredited what we told them, with no concern for our wellbeing or the embarrassment it caused. That interaction wiped out the good parts of the stay. There were other problems too. The first suite had a structural crack, and turning on the whirlpool brought up a strong sewage smell. The housekeeper said this happened because the room wasn't used much, treating it as normal, and apologized only weakly. Rather than feeling heard, we were made to feel as though we were overreacting about hygiene and preventive maintenance. That shouldn't be treated as ordinary. The games room didn't match what was advertised, with several broken or unusable items. The go-kart track wasn't working, and staff said it rarely does. The animal area also made us uncomfortable: rabbits were kept in small, dirty spaces, pigs in a confined area, and birds had very little room to move. The children's monitor encouraged shouting near the animals. Even if the setup meets the rules, there's room to provide more care and dignity. Outside delivery isn't allowed, so guests have to travel into town, which isn't nearby, or eat at the hotel restaurant. Breakfast had little variety for the hotel's offering and room rate. Corkage and the other rules are understandable, but together they made the place feel overly rigid and less welcoming. The hotel has real potential, but management's approach and the way sensitive issues were handled hurt our stay. Better management, preventive upkeep, and more welcoming policies could make the experience fit the hotel's promise much better.

The staff were a real highlight, all very friendly, polite, and helpful. They made a big difference and helped us feel at ease. The hotel itself is well cared for and organized. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and in excellent condition, as were the sports courts and pools. The pool bar portions were tasty and generous, and breakfast was delicious. On hot days, though, the juice ran out quickly and could have been replenished faster. The Caiapós restaurant was a letdown. The food was cold and bland, and the fish fillet parmigiana, which one staff member called a signature dish, was mostly banana. That was disappointing enough that we ended up going into town for dinner the next day. One safety suggestion: since this is a farm setting, the playground doors should stay closed in case venomous animals get in. With a few adjustments, the hotel could offer an even more complete and safer stay.

The restaurant here is a must for the à la carte dishes. They were distinctive and generously served. We stayed in the chalets, and they were well worth it: new, modern, spacious, cozy, and clean, with a bathtub. We'll definitely be back.

The hotel facilities were really good, with lovely heated and outdoor pools. Our room was spacious and smelled fresh, the bed was very comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. The restaurant menu was good too. We'll definitely come back.
