Just a two-minute walk gets you to the beach and South America's biggest water park. It's a cozy spot with genuinely good service, so I'd recommend staying here whether you're visiting Fortaleza or just taking a weekend break in town. It feels like home.

The rooms and pool were great, and both breakfast and pizza were delicious. Mr. Sampa was welcoming and helped us figure out what to do in Fortaleza, including some fun outings and tours around Ceara. Five stars, and I hope to come back soon.

We left the restaurant with our children, aged 5 and 9, after Mr. Sampa told us he didn't need gringo customers and that this was his country. We were only trying to have breakfast. They had 45 items, including scrambled eggs and tapiocas, and when I asked for tapiocas, “mister sampa,” as his T-shirt said, rudely told me to get other food first and that he would take my order afterward. My husband went to get food, and Mr. Sampa told him we could leave if we weren't happy with the service. We didn't want a scene, so we left. We've lived in Brazil for six years and had never been treated this way for being foreigners. Our son is Brazilian.
