Beautiful rooms, a lovely breakfast, and an amazing experience.

The breakfast was wonderful, and the view is beautiful. The location works especially well for people who kitesurf.

My wife and I spent a weekend in Canoa Quebrada for the first time, at the end of June 2025. After researching places to stay, I chose this one because of the photos and the easy access to things at night. I contacted them through their WhatsApp, and the only option available was Chalé Búzios, which wasn’t our first choice. We booked two nights hoping for a good experience, but the rate wasn’t cheap for what we got. We arrived Friday at check-in time and nobody was there to welcome us. We entered through the door leading to the “parking lot” and tried to figure out where reception was, but there isn’t one. We needed to pay the rest of the bill. A woman came over from the kitchen of a nearby residence, which seemed to be run by the same host. She didn’t introduce herself, but wore a company shirt. We asked if this was Asas Del Mar, and she said yes, then sent us to another woman to tell her which chalet we had. When asked for the chalet and booking name, I said Búzios under my name. She immediately said that half the payment was due then and handed us a notebook for a short personal information form. I paid and she gave me a key. A young man soon arrived, introduced himself, and led us to the chalet with a few brief instructions. There were two books beside the TV. I read all the instructions in them, many of which the employee hadn’t covered while showing us in. The first thing we noticed was a note with the host’s number and what seemed like excessive charges for damage to anything in the chalet, including towels and sheets. We also found a leak under the bathroom sink. I told the host right away; she replied quickly but nothing was done about it. The Wi-Fi was very poor inside our chalet, only working outside and sometimes dropping there too. The TV only opened Netflix and had no other channels. We used it Saturday because it was raining hard and couldn’t leave until the weather eased. On Friday we tried the Jacuzzi, but no water came out. We tried all the valves and switches and couldn’t get it working, so I asked the host to send someone. The young man came with a very unfriendly look and asked whether we’d turned on the valve properly. My wife said we had already tried the valve and switch. He went behind the chalet, presumably to turn on some main switch, and then it worked. Breakfast on Saturday was served by the woman who first helped us, the older woman who had taken our payment and given us the key, and another woman we hadn’t met before. We felt we were treated differently from the straight couples who came to eat. We were the only gay couple there at the time. I won’t go into the details, but that was the impression we left with. It was the last straw. We checked out before our scheduled time and decided to write this long review. We did enjoy the chalet itself. The setting is beautiful, the view is wonderful, and the location matters too. Still, we won’t return because the lack of welcome and service left such a bad impression. One star for the disappointment and how unwelcome we felt.

The team was fantastic, and the rooms were lovely. The bathroom was the downside and needs renovating.

Great spot and outstanding service from the staff. It’s very pet friendly. The room felt a bit cramped, but the outdoor area made up for it. Watching both the sunrise and moonrise from the inn itself was amazing.
