Pousada Paradise

The house is well located, but it’s very old and has a lot of problems. The electrical lights in every room kept getting weak, and in my bathroom we had to use our phones for light every night. The pool pump didn’t work, and we were told we might be charged R$ 3800,00 for it. We paid R$ 15,00 to use the pools at nearby bars instead, which were well equipped and worked for the children. Cleaning seemed to mean just the floor and sink: the light fixtures had cobwebs, the sheets and pillowcases were old and poor quality, and the mattresses were thin, old, and smelly. Bring extra sheets so you can sleep with two layers. There’s no shower, just cold water. At least we love the area, and both bedrooms had air conditioning, though it was so weak it had to run 24 hours. The upstairs rooms had no AC, and the fans couldn’t cope with the heat, so we had to use repellent and sleep with the windows open. The breeze in Canoa Quebrada is lovely. We were there as a family from January 5 to 8, 2026, and the host, Sinderlândia, who said she was the owner, stayed in the house the first night without telling us. We woke up to her walking around inside. The next day, while we went to the beach and my husband worked from home, she came in with a group to show them the house. Later that day, another group came in and disturbed us to collect mattresses for a second house she said she had. The house manager had warned us she was difficult, but that wasn’t the right word. One of the advertised parking spots also isn’t really for guests. It’s her car at the back, in the only covered spot, and you have to move all the cars whenever she needs it, no matter the time. When we complained, a scene broke out and she was completely out of control. We chose to leave early rather than make a police report because we had children and teenagers with us, and they shouldn’t have had to go through that. I’m from SP and my sister lives in Paraiba, and this was our annual get-together for just a few days. We put up with the second and third days, then left early at her request: “If you don’t like it, leave MY property.” Better to lose the money than risk a criminal record, right? There’s more, but this is enough to be very careful.
