The two rooms we booked as a family were quite different, so room assignment matters here. The kids’ room was roomy, attractive, and had a great view. Ours was small, smelled strongly of damp, and faced another hotel where people were constantly passing, so privacy was limited. The minibar also switched off when we took out the key card, unlike in the other room. We lost food, and even after raising the issue, there was no technical fix during our stay. The location is hard to beat: João Fernandes beach is right across the street, and there are three dive operators nearby for anyone looking for an activity. Staff were consistently attentive and friendly. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and the complimentary afternoon tea was a welcome treat, especially with teenagers in the family. The rest of the hotel was comfortable and pleasant. It’s a highly recommendable place for its setting and service, but I’d pay attention to where your room is assigned.
