Paraiso Mar Nova Estrela

Maia, the owner, and the women who work with her were the best: friendly, helpful, and cheerful, always ready to advise us. The inn is small, but it was very comfortable for the two of us. It’s far from the center, though the vans that run along the avenue make getting around easy. Everything was great.

The only thing that went well was breakfast. It was simple, but quite nice, and having my dear friends in Búzios helped make the weekend better. The rest of the stay was disappointing. We had problems from check-in: the few staff members spoke only Spanish, not Portuguese, and seemed to expect us to understand their language. The owner also got every reservation wrong, and all three rooms in our group were switched. There was no room service, no change of sheets or towels, and no bathroom trash pickup. I hadn’t checked the price. I won’t be back.

The facilities were in awful shape, damp rooms and beds in terrible condition. The showers gave electric shocks, the Wi-Fi was bad, and breakfast was very sparse. I’d look somewhere else. Definitely not recommended.

Getting around was easy, and the beach was only two blocks away. The staff were incredibly attentive too. I loved the inn, had no complaints, and everything felt perfect. Thanks so much for the hospitality!
