The worst part was how the work affected the whole inn. The pool area was under construction, so I could use the pool only once between Saturday and Wednesday. The rest of the inn was dusty and dirty, leaving my room as the only clean place I could use. There was no warning before I arrived. I found out when I saw and heard the construction: loud drilling in the corridor and right outside my window, beside my bed. When I opened the door, all I could see was a cloud of dust. It kept me from sleeping and gave me a severe headache. Simone brushed off my complaint, sarcastically suggesting that daytime construction wasn't an inconvenience. The outside was also a mess, with the facade being worked on and no gate. There was cement everywhere, and we had to step over boards to get in and out without walking on freshly laid ground. I was completely outraged by the disrespect toward guests. They made sure I would never want to return to that awful place. When I complained to Walter, he said he'd once stayed at a hotel that was under construction and had to put up with it too. That's no understandable excuse. He also said my husband and I were the only guests who encountered the work.

The room and common areas were very clean, and the staff were friendly and responsible. The location is convenient for the port, a lovely spot, though it's some distance from the city center. Breakfast was adequate, but could use more variety, and the mattresses could be better. I had a positive stay and would come back.

The inn is in a great spot for getting to several of Búzios's beaches. My issue was with the strong scented spray the housekeeper used in the room. There was so much of it that the fragrance lingered everywhere, even on the bed linens. It should be sprayed into the air instead. Breakfast is served by the pool, which wasn't pleasant either, with flies landing on the food. They should consider moving it indoors to avoid that.
