Loved it.

Great music during the day, a well-stocked bar, and friendly owners. Their caipirinhas are the best in all of Buzios.

There’s no real upside beyond the price. It’s in the center, so there’s plenty of noise, and the nearest beach is one of the worst. It was the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had, and easily the worst inn in all of Buzios, though I should say it was also the cheapest. The breakfast was awful: bad coffee, a few slices of cheese and ham, and bread. That was it. The owners or managers showed no concern about fixing problems. They seem used to guests leaving early or repeatedly complaining at the reception, which is just a broken table at the entrance. The room had a long list of problems. The power went out often, the keys didn’t work, and for six days I had to climb in through the window. The air conditioner felt like it was from the 19th century. It only worked when plugged into the wall, and had to be unplugged to turn it off. It also made a tremendous amount of noise inside and outside the room.

The only real plus is the location. The bathroom had slime in the shower and the drain was in very bad shape, and the room hygiene wasn’t up to scratch. Breakfast was extremely limited, with no variety. Maintenance is lacking in several areas. It’s disappointing for a place that gets so many tourists, who leave home expecting comfort and end up let down. Ana Carolina, the attendant, was very attentive and tried to make things better. Aside from that, the stay was good.
