Hotel Enseada Dos Corais Praia

The hotel felt quite safe from what we experienced and discussed, and the location is very good, with direct access to the beach. If you get a room facing the pool, the sound of the waves is a lovely touch. It’s spacious and clean, with a comfortable room, a well-kept, large pool, and everything worked well. The service was very good, breakfast was tasty, and the outsourced restaurant offered lots of choices and hours. Without a car, we could catch a van outside the hotel every night at different times for R$ 5 per person and get to Rua do Mucugê or the center of Arraial without having to climb the hill. A few things could be better. Breakfast could have more options, since the fruit selection changed from day to day. They could label the cake flavors because you couldn’t always tell what they were just by looking. The restaurant where breakfast is served is a bit dark and stuffy indoors. In the afternoon, they put out a thermos of coffee and a jar of plain crackers in the green area with sofas. It’s a pleasant setting, but a pretty meager afternoon snack. They could add leftover cake from breakfast or some fruit. The games room goes unused and stays dark. A playroom for children might make better use of the space. I didn’t need the parking since I was there without a car, but the number of spaces seemed too small.

The stay itself was uneventful, and we already knew the hotel. The problem came at checkout: staff insisted we pay for a sparkling water they said was missing from the apartment’s fridge. I had photographed and checked the items as soon as we arrived, so I knew it was there. Eventually they acknowledged their mistake and resolved it to their satisfaction, but the insistence was unpleasant. Management should make sure this doesn’t happen. It can upset guests and could even lead to a legal claim for moral damages. To me, it reflects a wider problem with businesses in the region not preparing their staff properly. Guests end up paying for that, which is a shame. I sometimes wonder whether business owners care about it.

We were given an upgrade from a garden room to a sea-front suite, which made the stay even better. The room was clean, the bedding was comfortable, the shower was great, and the staff were very attentive and polite. The hotel sits right by the sea at the best part of Mucugê beach, and the restaurant serves guests at both the hotel and the beach, with everything you need by the pool or on the sand. The food was delicious, especially the mashed potatoes. I loved it here, definitely worth staying.

The hotel is beautiful and right by the sea. It’s close to the center, though there’s a steep hill on the way. Vans charge R$ 5 and are worth taking. Reception was always ready to help, and the restaurant staff were helpful too. Housekeeping was on the job, and maintenance was generally done every day.
