Pousada Fragata

The staff are very friendly, and breakfast was good. The decor felt dated compared with places I've seen in Trancoso or Arraial, though, with their painted natural stones. I expect you could find alternatives away from the street noise. For me, the main issue was being next to a club. At 4:30 the funk was still shaking my bed, and the bass was literally making things move. I'd stay 500 m to 1 km clear of bar Morocha, I'd guess Torrão is worse. I've paid 33% less elsewhere for similar or better breakfast and a good night's sleep.

Amazing...

We stayed four days for our honeymoon, and the room made it easy to settle in, with plenty of space, a balcony, and a big bathroom. Since we told them it was our honeymoon, they decorated it with flowers on the bed and two little ducks kissing. It was a thoughtful welcome. Breakfast was excellent. With fewer guests in low season, it was à la carte on some days and self-service when the place was busier. That worked fine for us. The location is right in the center of Mucugê, on Rua do Mucugê, where everything happens and it's very lively. Some things are worn with age, and the inn could update a few fixtures and parts of the building. That didn't get in the way of our stay or the experience overall.

Breakfast was very good and generous, and the staff serving it were friendly. Whenever we had a question, someone helped us promptly. Hotel La Fragata was a great stay, with a welcoming, attentive reception team. The room was clean and smelled pleasantly fresh. The beds, linens, and towels were all comfortable and in good condition, and everything was well cared for. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend the hotel.
