Pousada Marraial

The owner is Ivo, and there's a bar right in front of the inn that stays open until 23:00. You can hear it from the room. If you're in town to have fun, you probably won't go to bed early anyway, and if you do, you might be tired enough that the noise won't bother you. The value for money is excellent. The inn is right in the center, so take one big step and you'll be inside Igreja de Arraial D'Ajuda. The beds were clean and comfortable, the room had air conditioning, and the simple bathroom was spacious and good. They provide soap, towels, and toilet paper. Ivo welcomed us really warmly. We couldn't find the breakfast that was supposed to be included, but for the price, I'm not complaining. It was a great find in Arraial. I recommend it if you want convenience and a good price!

The setup is nice, the price feels fair, and the location is perfect. As a backpacker for six years, I know a hotel, hostel, and pousada are different things, so I’m giving Hostel e Pousada Marraial five stars. The owner is a really nice guy.

We booked at the last minute for a night in Arraial, and it worked out well for the price. The pousada seemed to be under renovation. The room’s air conditioning worked fine, but the towels looked a little yellowed and the mattress was placed directly on the floor, with no bed frame. Breakfast was very basic, with only three options.

The place was noisy and offered no privacy, and the staff member was extremely rude. There was no room service or breakfast, and nobody even asked whether we needed toilet paper. The ceiling had holes, and they didn’t provide the breakfast they had promised. The bunk bed was just one single bed stacked on top of another. This place seems like it should be closed. Worst experience I’ve ever had. I do not recommend it.
