I still remember my stay at Hotel Pousada Pitinga in 2000 as something magical. It made me feel so content that I thought it had to be the height of human achievement. Twenty-four years later, I planned a return with our 23-year-old twins, with June 2024 circled and our bags ready. Then came the surprise: the hotel wasn't open, so my long-awaited visit had to wait again. It may seem odd to review a place decades after staying there, but Pitinga Pousada left such a strong impression that I still remember how it felt. Its recent rave reviews make me confident it's still as good as I remember, maybe even better. I couldn't relive the experience that June, but I still hope to return someday, with a less dramatic twist in the story. If you've been there lately, hold on to this gem. My dream of going back is still alive. Maybe I'll make it for the sequel in another 24 years.

We booked three nights, but by day two we already knew we wouldn't leave until we had to. My husband and I ended up spending six nights at Hotel Pousada Pitinga, just before our first child is due this August. We had a spacious, incredibly comfortable room, and the staff were welcoming and brought 10/10 energy to their service. There was plenty to enjoy without going far. Pitinga beach was a quick walk away and town was only minutes away. We spent hours relaxing at the pousada, walking the beach, eating at the cabanas and kayaking. Lunch and breakfast kept surprising us, and the fish dish made our top five meals in Brazil. Before heading into town for dinner, nightlife and live music, we'd often nap on the grass. We couldn't have picked a better place.

We found this place by chance on the drive to Pitinga Beach, and it turned out to be exactly the break we needed before heading home. We initially planned to stay for two nights, but after settling in and falling for the pousada, its location and the staff, we stayed five. My fiancé and I want to make coming back a tradition a couple of times a year. The on-site restaurant was great, too. We ate lunch there every day and didn't have a bad meal. The fish dishes were especially good, and the staff were attentive, thoughtful and accommodating. Five stars all around!
