Really great!

Loved it!

There are only a few rooms, which makes the place feel more private and pleasant. It’s a simple pousada, but cozy and very peaceful. Breakfast has a good variety and is served generously, and the leisure area is nice too. A great choice if you want somewhere quiet to stay in Arraial d’Ajuda.

The photos on social media raised expectations that didn’t match what we found. I was disappointed by the gap between what’s shown and the reality. We booked the more expensive chalet, which sits behind the rest of the property in a very different area: there’s little vegetation, mostly bare earth, and not enough lighting at night. One evening we saw a saruê because it was so dark. That’s just part of the setting, not a complaint about the animal. The room itself is dim, with little natural light and weak lighting. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows weren’t. There’s a kitchen, though it lacks basics like a dish towel and a drying rack, and there’s nowhere to dry clothes, which matters in the humidity. The bathroom was the biggest problem: a rusty faucet, weak shower pressure, peeling paint on a very slippery floor, a loose drain and no non-slip surface. The toilet didn’t flush strongly enough, and the seat was smaller than the bowl and uncomfortable. These are basic maintenance issues. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Some days the room wasn’t cleaned, and dishes left to be washed were still there as before. Breakfast had some nice homemade options, but it was poorly managed, with little replenishment, food left exposed and not enough attention. Service was uneven too. The receptionists were friendly, but the night shift fell short. We came back around 11 p.m. several times to find everything dark. We couldn’t use the pool table or stay in reception, and the night receptionist was asleep. There are positives: the place is quiet and surrounded by nature, the pool is pleasant, and there’s parking on site. It’s about 400 meters from the ferry, which is convenient, but around 4 km from central Arraial. By car it takes about 15 minutes because of the speed bumps. That’s just information, not a criticism of the location. For the price, it isn’t worth it. There are similar or better places in better locations, and this is expensive for what it offers. About the reply dated 24/4: I reported the lack of water pressure several times, including by WhatsApp. I never said I wanted to use the pool at night, I meant the pool table. I mentioned the location and the saruê descriptively, not as complaints. There’s a clear difference between what’s represented and what you find in practice, and that sums up the stay.

The only drawback was the sound carrying from other rooms and the shared areas, which could be a bit bothersome. Otherwise, I had a great stay and would definitely come back. The pousada is simple but very practical, with spotless, well-kept rooms and common spaces, attentive staff, and a good breakfast with quality options. The location was the best part. It’s right by the ferry, so you can walk to Porto Seguro, and Praia do Apaga Fogo is just across the street. Vans to central Arraial are easy to catch, so you don’t need a car. For the nightly rate and convenience, it’s well worth it.
