Pousada Vila Praiana

The location made everything easy, and we didn't miss out on anything. We could use the kitchen and prepare food the way we liked. Breakfast was great too.

We stayed just one night. The room was simple but comfortable. It has more of a hostel feel, so I wouldn't recommend it for children or people who prefer privacy. We had a private room, but its high window looked straight onto reception, so there wasn't much privacy. There was a lot of noise at night, with guests playing loud music and doors banging all night. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Three friends and I traveled to Arraial do Cabo and really liked the inn. It's well placed for getting to the beaches, shops, and supermarkets. They helped us find good routes to the beaches and places to shop. When they realized we were Argentine, they started speaking Spanish right away, and we could communicate easily. The service was excellent. Breakfast was served from 8 to 10 a.m., and Mrs. Maria, who cleans the rooms, was especially kind and attentive. The kitchen has all the utensils you need, with two fridges available. The receptionists were friendly during both the day and night.

The best thing here is the location. It's right in the middle of town, with markets, pharmacies, restaurants, bakeries, a bank, the local church, and beaches all within reach. Breakfast is good for a hostel, especially the cakes and coffee made by dona Maria. Cleanliness was what bothered us most. The men's and women's bathrooms each have one toilet, one sink, and two cold showers. The walls had mold, and the toilet was very dirty. It went two days without being cleaned, and was only 'cleaned' after we asked. My mother and I also had to sweep our room twice ourselves. Our room, number 2, had space for 10 people, but it was so cramped that we had to take turns moving around to change or get ready. Each bed has a storage chest, but mine wouldn't fit my ordinary combination lock, so I couldn't use it. I was also worried about security. Lots of people coming and going is normal in a hostel, but even though entry uses a code, the front door was usually left open. The rooms had no keys or latches, and reception wasn't always staffed. There are cameras in the common areas, but this still concerned me when I went out sightseeing.
