We weren’t even staying at the pousada, but Felipe still helped us arrange a return trip to Barreirinhas for the next day. I’m grateful for his help during our short visit.

For what we paid, the hotel didn’t feel worth it. The room was distinctive, but the rooftop made it hard to sleep. It’s built with straw-like material, and the wind made it sound like rain all night. When it actually rained, the drops hitting the roof panels were even louder. The turkey-like birds the hotel keeps also started calling around 4, 5, and 6 in the morning. Service felt understaffed from the moment we arrived. Check-in was rough, and there was only one employee at reception, who also had to work in the gift shop and as a waitress. The hotel says it offers quadricycle transfers, but there weren’t enough people to run them smoothly, so we had to wait for the previous quadricycle to come back. I really wasn’t that into the place.

We had a really nice, cozy time here. The suites were great and had AC, and there was a little pool. Loved the appetizers and their amazing sauces, especially the guava one, though I can’t remember its exact name. It went so well with the crispy shrimp.

The chalets are packed close together, so there’s no privacy. The mattress was cheap and extremely uncomfortable, and the bathroom was small and dark.
