Convento Arcádia

I spent 10 days at the Pousada and really enjoyed it. The huts are spacious and tastefully furnished with eco-friendly materials, including old wood and sustainably sourced local materials. With the mosquito net set up so well, I slept soundly without any mosquitoes, and didn't even need the fan. The open design usually lets in a gentle breeze, and the climate isn't humid, which made it easy to adapt. The garden is peaceful and has a pool, and breakfast was fantastic, more than I could eat. Fabiola and Olaf were thoughtful hosts who helped with anything I needed, from recommendations and restaurant tips to booking tours. I'm a kitesurfer and kept my gear in a locker at a kite school on the beach. The walk to the kitesurf beach is about 10 minutes at most, and the spot is fantastic, uncrowded, and very relaxed. I contacted Bergy on WhatsApp to ask about drop-in yoga classes. The Convento Arcadia website clearly says the classes are open to everyone on a drop-in basis. We were texting in Portuguese, and maybe Bergy isn't a native speaker, but the response was quite rude: they said there were no classes for “outsiders.” I don't know anything else about the place, but I was treated very poorly. It doesn't feel like the right atmosphere for somewhere that hosts and organizes yoga retreats. At the very least, they should hire and train their staff better. Bad vibes.

Quiet, stylish spot with a huge garden, a yoga deck, and kite storage. The manager is cool too. Recommended.
