Pousada Corais Barra

The reception staff were great, and I have no complaints about them. The pool was ordinary, but fine for a swim. The rooms were awful and dated, with something broken in nearly every one, whether the TV, minibar, or air conditioning. I went around with the receptionist until we found a slightly better room. It was decent, but the TV still didn’t work, and there was no Wi-Fi or TV signal, open or paid channels. Breakfast was so poor that I had to buy extra food at the supermarket. I wouldn’t stay at this inn again. :(

The inn was really pretty, and breakfast was good. But room service didn’t come at all during either of the two days I stayed. The pool water was green both days too, so I wondered if it was dirty.

Our room felt almost abandoned, and it was right beside the kitchen. The cooks worked there until 10 p.m., with lots of clanging pots and noise. Later, other guests had a birthday gathering that went on until around 11, with loud music and laughter that even kept my son from sleeping. We’d been told not to bring speakers, so that was frustrating. To top it off, the person in charge refused to refund us for two unopened 600 ml bottles of beer, saying we had to drink them at the inn. We weren’t allowed to take the bottles we’d paid for with us either. It felt like they were blatantly ripping off guests. The whole stay was horrible for my family.

The room had a leak and a really strong mold smell. Its condition was shocking, worse than even a roadside inn. The bath towel was so old it was completely frayed. Also, the parking is public and doesn’t belong to the property. Look at the photos.
