Hostel em Boas Mãos

The shared kitchen worked well for us, we cooked there twice, and there's a large outdoor washing area and a small garden. It's very clean and affordable, with everything close by. The staff and owners are fantastic: helpful, friendly, cheerful and available. They helped us arrange tours at fair prices and figure out how and when to take local buses. They had tapioca pancakes at breakfast for people who can't have gluten. Vegans can ask for them without butter.

The owner made sure we were comfortable, and the staff were lovely. I was very satisfied for what I paid. There is no AC, though, and the insulation isn't great, so you can hear a lot.

Cineide and her husband are so warm and attentive. They helped me with bus rides, tours, pickups and food orders, and Cineide can arrange tours at more competitive rates. Watch out for people on the street trying to sell tours. The dorms are simple but have what you need, and breakfast is served in the little garden out back. Em Boas Mãos means "In good hands," and it really is a relaxing place. Cineide's warmth and generosity make it special. Obrigada Cineide, it was a pleasure meeting you!

Beautiful plants and interesting antiques give the hostel a nice feel. It's comfortable, affordable and clean, with AC and a delicious breakfast. The name says it all. I'd highly recommend it.
