Pousada Clube Vista do Rio

The only person I found who was willing, helpful, and polite was Rodrigo. In my opinion, he should be managing the pousada, since he was the one doing what the manager should have been doing. I found it unacceptable that there was no one responsible for catching these serious problems. We paid 600 reais per night, and this pousada wasn't worth it. We'll return to Lençois another time, but we certainly won't recommend this place. Breakfast was poor and expensive for what you got. They say it's served from 7 to 9, but at 7 they are only setting things up. You'd better arrive by 7:15 at the latest, because by 7:30 or 8 the guests have eaten everything, and little is replenished. The same old cake was served every day, there were bugs in the granola, the tapioca wasn't made fresh and came cold and tasteless, and the roughly ten cheese breads ran out without being restocked. The electric shower was either cold or scalding, with no warm setting. One day I had no air conditioning because my room's breaker was linked to the empty room next door, and someone switched it off. I couldn't find anyone in charge of the pousada, only Rodrigo, who was dealing with issues the manager should have handled.

Rodrigo made a big difference to our trip. He was an excellent employee, willing to sort out absolutely everything for us, and he became a friend. The pousada is simple but works well: clean, safe, and in a very peaceful, pleasant setting. It's near the center by taxi, around 25 reais per ride. It was one of our best options, and I'd definitely stay there again. Breakfast was okay, but could have been more varied, with quicker replenishment. We arrived an hour before check-in after a four-hour transfer, tired and on a rainy day. The manager and owner wouldn't let us into the room early. They could have been more welcoming and flexible.

The staff were very polite, but I wouldn't stay at this pousada again. Breakfast was really bad, with no choice. They served the same stale cake every day, there were bugs in the granola, and the tapioca was cold, tasteless, and not made to order. They had about ten cheese breads, which ran out and weren't replenished. Breakfast needs a lot of improvement.

The staff were so attentive, and the reception was a 10. I really liked the place: cosy, clean, quiet, with spacious rooms and soft, well-kept towels. Breakfast was plentiful, and the afternoon coffee with cake was a lovely extra. After four nights at the hotel, I left with great memories.
