Pousada do Rio

We were able to leave our bags after checkout and use the pool area while waiting for our bus. The pool area is beautiful, and there's a nice spot to relax beside the river. Our spacious room had a mini fridge and great air conditioning. Breakfast was good, with some nice variety. You can get hammocks from reception if your room has a balcony. We had a lovely stay.

All the employees were really cool, always smiling and ready to help. They gave us tour tips and helped us book tours late at night. The breakfast was excellent: fresh fruit, cake, bread, cheese, ham, squeezed juice, omelette, scrambled eggs, tapioca, coffee, and milk. Under the Covid 19 buffet rules, a masked, gloved woman served whatever you asked for. The hotel sits right by the river, where you can walk in for a refreshing swim; there are also a few tables, strollers, and a pool beside it. The rooms were nice, freshly painted, quiet, and had good AC, a decent sized TV with very few channels, and new bathrooms. Ours was on the first floor, reached by stairs with no elevator, but every first floor room has a balcony. There's plenty of parking inside the property, mostly empty since most guests arrive by transfer. It's only a few blocks from the town center, so dinner is walkable, while the distance keeps you away from the traffic mess.

A great place to relax between trips to the park. The staff were a 10, from the front desk to maintenance. We stayed two nights and felt so comfortable. Thanks for the hospitality, even though my Portuguese isn't very good.

This restaurant and hotel are very simple, with basic comfort and service for people who enjoy nature trips. The food is good, prepared in a very basic way, and mainly consists of local fish and poultry. The staff smile, and we had a good laugh over misunderstandings while communicating with gestures, unless you're Brazilian and speak the language. It's almost in the middle of nowhere, with electricity generated locally and water pumped from beneath the restaurant.
