Pousada Jatobá

The staff were all very polite, and the place was really clean. Breakfast was simple but tasty and well prepared, with different juices and savory snacks each day. The pousada is close to everything, including tour agencies, a pharmacy, restaurants, and markets. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back!

We had a private bathroom, and although the shower was cold, that was no problem at all because the water was quite warm. Breakfast was generous, with different options including tapioca, eggs, and couscous. The pousada is close to local shops and good restaurants, and Soledade welcomed us with so much warmth. I had a very positive stay.

The location is great, and breakfast was simple but tasty. The room was very small, though, and I wouldn’t stay more than one night. The sheets and pillowcases looked used, the towel was torn and felt like a floor rag, and there wasn’t any soap in the room.

On our last day, our excursion ended at 6 pm and our transfer back was at 7. The pousada offered to store our bags and let us take a complimentary shower, which saved us from paying for an extra night. But when we arrived to shower, they refused to provide a towel, saying the towels were all accounted for. I thought that was outrageous, so I bought one. When our room was serviced, the towels weren’t changed either, though I don’t know if we were supposed to ask. The lock was also awful to use with the key. Being close to the restaurants was especially useful after full days of excursions. The pousada is about 300 meters from the main street, where the city’s main bars and restaurants are, and there are also markets, banks, shops, and other places nearby. It’s very simple, but our bed was comfortable, and the room had a TV, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. There was no electric shower, which didn’t bother us. They don’t provide soap or shampoo, and our bed only had a bedspread, no sheets. Breakfast was nearly the same every day. I was amazed that a pousada in the Northeast didn’t serve couscous. A few things could definitely be improved.
