I left satisfied and would stay here again, as long as I keep my expectations realistic. With hotel prices in Barretos being high, I thought this was good value, but the owner needs to make some basic updates. The outlets are old, and the only three-prong one in my room didn't work. The mattresses were decent but low density, around D28 at most, and seem likely to sag before long. Breakfast was plentiful but weak on variety, especially protein. The building is beautiful, an old mansion with high ceilings, colonial windows, and a charm you don't see in newer buildings. Inside, things are simple. Reception is open 24 hours, and the staff were helpful enough, without going out of their way to offer extra help. I had the cheapest, basic room, with two single beds, an acrylic shower enclosure, and an electric shower that worked. There was no intercom or minibar. Drinks are kept in an upright freezer at reception. The location is ideal, near the central square, with pharmacies, banks, restaurants, other hotels, shops, and the city's best-known spot, a large kiosk with several small bars. The room also needs better outlets and mattresses, and breakfast could be improved. I'd come back, knowing it won't meet every need.

The rooms are good and the location is handy. Best of all, it's extremely clean. Breakfast was good and the price was excellent. I really recommend it.

09.06.2024. The hotel was easy to find and very clean, and the reception lobby looked nice. There was complimentary espresso and water, and the receptionists were kind, helpful, and polite. Breakfast ran from 7:00 to 9:30 and had plenty to choose from: fruit, cakes, bread, jellies, juices, water, different teas, coffee, milk, omelets, sausages, and more. The kitchen and dining room staff were all helpful, polite, and kind. I recommend it.

The worst hotel experience of my life. The mattress I was given was so dirty that sleeping on it was disgusting. The bathroom drain smelled awful, and I could hear other rooms using their bathrooms through the drain in ours all night. The reception staff were rude and treated guests with complete disrespect. During breakfast, paint from the dining room walls was falling onto the tables. My dogs have better beds, mattresses, and bathrooms than this dump. I've attached photos of the mattress I had to sleep on.

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was delicious. But this place urgently needs renovating. The rooms are very old, the sink stone was stained, the shower enclosure was loose, and the windows were jammed. Worst of all, the shower was green with slime. It was disgusting, and bathing like that made me feel sick. Please clean and renovate the place urgently!
