I came with my girlfriend mainly to rest, but parties nearby went on until 5 in the morning, so we didn’t get much sleep and it took away from the experience. During the day it was very hot indoors even with the fan on, though we know that was due to the outdoor temperature. Kitchen supplies were available, but I didn’t use them, and I skipped the TV because we’d come to rest. The place needs some renovation and more care outdoors, especially the lighting, the deck, and the tub lights. There were plenty of lights for a romantic feel, but they weren’t working. These are constructive comments, and I hope those details are sorted out if I come back. No one else had access to my private area, which was a positive. The place did have its ups and downs.
The first thing that made the stay difficult was construction right beside Chalé Família Torres. Several men were working near the jacuzzi, and the loud noise and their proximity took away our privacy. It started early again the next morning and woke us up. We understand the property can’t control neighboring construction, but guests should be told ahead of time so they can decide whether to keep or reschedule their stay. There were also several problems inside the chalet. The lights on the jacuzzi steps and its internal motors didn’t work, and the water in it seemed to come straight from the river, unlike what the Instagram photos show. Water from both the shower and sink also looked dirty. The bedroom light was out and we had to adjust it ourselves. The air conditioner dripped all night, wetting the floor and part of the bed, and the refrigerator stopped working. The food and drinks we’d bought for dinner and breakfast went bad, including an ice cream that melted completely. When my boyfriend tried to turn on the outdoor light, a loose wire gave him a mild electric shock, so we didn’t use it. Nobody came to meet us, despite the message saying there would be someone to receive us. I asked for a refund and my messages were simply ignored. A horrible experience. I’ll never set foot there again. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!
The chalet seems poorly maintained, and all the curtains were stained. When we arrived, the downstairs air conditioner wasn’t working, so the person responsible for cleaning had to bring us a fan. The owner gave so many instructions that it felt like they were treating the place as a five-star hotel.
The place looks nice, but it needs attention and repairs for the price they charge. The pool water was dirty, and there were no matches or lighters for the stove or barbecue. You have to use the stairs to get in and out, but a wooden step was broken and put people at risk. There were no towels or sheets, and the neighbors kept looking over, so there was no privacy. Construction next door meant lots of dust. The bathroom had no shower enclosure and its door wouldn’t close. The air conditioner leaked and was faulty. There was a tree on the ground, large dogs, a broken roof tile, and broken chairs.
The house itself is attractive and has potential, but the many problems really hurt what we’d hoped would be a special, cozy anniversary stay. Given the price, it urgently needs repairs and improvements so guests are properly looked after. We stayed at the Chalé from 15 to 16/08 to celebrate our dating anniversary and future wedding. Construction next door and loud music from neighbors early in the morning made it hard to rest. The refrigerator was very old and seemed broken or switched off from the moment we arrived. The owner said it was probably due to electrical overload from the construction tools and air conditioner, and we lost some of the food we’d brought. The chalet door was cracked and its lock was broken, which affected our security and privacy. Leaks upstairs soaked both double beds, leaving neither usable. One bed’s sheet was so thin it felt like lying straight on the mattress and made our skin itch. Gaps let in lots of mosquitoes and made it hard for the air conditioner to cool the room. The main light didn’t work, one outdoor light kept flickering, and the power surged and cut out. Cooking at night was difficult, so we had to use our phone flashlights. The old smart TV had a bug that stopped it connecting to the internet, leaving only regular channels, which didn’t match the advertised leisure setup. Guests in the back room also entered our private area at times, which shouldn’t have happened.
