Quality Hotel Pampulha

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I liked the restaurant. The price matched the basic rooms and the low quality of things like the linens, beds, and towels, so I didn't feel overcharged. I stayed for a week with colleagues on a work trip. It's a reasonable budget option if you need this location, but I wouldn't come back.

The front desk service was super unfriendly and rude. At check-in, they told me to find a chair in another room and carry it to mine myself, since there wasn't one there. The fitness room equipment was broken, and the sauna stayed closed for "maintenance" the whole time. In my room, the lamp didn't work right, the TV was broken and they couldn't fix it, and the air conditioning never worked properly. Water covered the room throughout my stay, and they couldn't repair that either. This was one of the worst, lowest-quality hotels I've ever stayed in. Do not stay there. Avoid this hotel if you can, you'll regret it.

The independent restaurant serves good breakfast and dinner, though dinner can be pricey. I also found the hotel comfortable, but there was a constant BBQ smell in the lobby. The location isn't ideal: it's a 30-minute walk from the nearest natural park, and busy streets make the area noisy, with occasional homeless passersby. You'll need public transport or a car. It's a comfortable enough stay if location isn't a priority.

The restaurant is a great place to relax with friends or family over breakfast. Their traditional cheese-bread is so tasty, even better than what I've had at bakeries, and I love the delicious black coffee with fresh milk. Great breakfast, great place!
