The best part is the location, right across from Lagoa da Pampulha, near Mirante do Biguá and the 8600m point of the bike path. There are good restaurants about 1 km away, as well as supermarkets. Parking is available for an extra daily charge, with a ramp that could be tricky for some cars. The two rooms we used were quite different, so consistency seems to be an issue. In room 205, the double bed was made of two mattresses with a noticeable gap, which made sleeping uncomfortable. One minibar didn’t cool, and it took more than a day and a half of insisting before they replaced it. I heard several complaints at reception during the stay, which may contribute to uneven service. The breakfast was good and ran from 6:30 to 10:00. The bathrooms were clean and good, and the rooms were spacious, with small but functional smart TVs. The air conditioners weren’t very effective during days above 32°C. In room 205, there were large spiders by the bathroom window, and the window wouldn’t stay open. We had no issues in the upstairs twin room. The pillows could be more comfortable.

The hotel is good, and the staff are kind and helpful. I enjoyed most of my stay, but once, after we asked for the room to be cleaned, the housekeeper threw away some of my clothes. They were in a bag next to the bag with my shoes. I asked reception what had happened. I wasn’t looking for punishment or money, just an explanation, but none came. They said they’d get back to me on WhatsApp and didn’t. When I messaged again for an update, all I got was, “No, miss.” I felt that was disrespectful to a customer.

The room was spacious, the shower was good, and I had a partial view of Lagoa da Pampulha. Breakfast was okay, and the Wi-Fi worked during my stay. Getting to the city center, though, means being prepared to spend a lot on ride apps. The cable TV only got Globo, and the other channels had no sound. My reservation’s check-in time wasn’t honored. I waited more than 1 hour and 20 minutes in reception before I could enter the room. The lobby had just three incredibly uncomfortable old chairs, worn down enough that you could feel the wooden frame, and no real facilities for people waiting there. I thought the late check-out might be extended because of the delay, but I still had to leave at noon, as booked. There was zero flexibility, and the staff were mocking and unprepared. It’s a shame the service fell so far short.

I stayed for two days, and the entire third floor had no working air conditioning. I slept in the heat. On the second night they told us it had been fixed, but in my accessible room the unit was above the door in a corridor, with a wardrobe in front of it. It doesn’t blow toward the bed, so the room simply doesn’t cool down. The bathroom had no shower enclosure, so I had to push the water away with a squeegee after every shower. Staff were mocking and ineffective, and communication between them was awful. I’d been raising the air conditioning and accessible-room problems for two days. Eventually they said they hadn’t even told the manager, the only person who could move me, and he was only at the hotel until 7 p.m. So I had to spend another night in the heat. I left disappointed and convinced that unless this hotel changes, it won’t last long under this management.
