The only little drawback was the hill you have to climb. Everything else made the stay worthwhile. Just a few meters away there's an entrance to Furb, with a dining hall where you can get breakfast until 9 p.m. and lunch until 2:30 p.m. at reasonable prices for the city. The Hostel looked after me very well. My nephew arrived ahead of me for a full week, while I stayed just three days, and I'm sincerely grateful to the owner, Moabis, for the kindness he showed us. A shout-out to Saulo, too. Thanks so much, everyone.

I booked Blu Hostel through Booking about four months before the other women in my room. I reserved two nights around May or June for about 700 reais in total. The Booking terms said payment was due at check-in. Around July, though, someone representing the hostel contacted me and said I had to pay part of the amount in advance to secure my spot. That seemed odd, but I agreed after being told it was because the festival made it high season. When I arrived, I shared with six other women. They all said they had paid 500 reais for the same dates, and one had also booked through Booking. I asked the owner about it, but he gave me no plausible explanation. Worse, he seemed to think my booking was for three days, which made it look like I'd paid far too much. I explained that I checked in Saturday and would leave Sunday morning, and he had nothing more to say. He even told the last woman to join our room not to discuss prices with the rest of us because it was causing confusion. I paid almost 50% more to stay for the same period, despite booking earlier than all of them. I felt seriously taken advantage of. Because of the owner's conduct, I can't recommend the hostel and won't return.

The rooms are great, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Everything was spotless, the welcome was warm, and the common area felt really cozy. There's also a charming balcony where I could enjoy my coffee and a beautiful view over part of the city. Senhor Moabis and dona Rose are such a welcoming, friendly couple. I recommend staying here. And dona Rose's banana cake... my goodness! Haha.

Rosa was so kind and helpful, and the service was wonderful. The location is perfect. This is the best-equipped hostel I've stayed in, with lots of space, a clean and organized setup, a leisure area, and a wonderful view.
