Pousada Brigite - Hostel

The owner is wonderfully helpful, and the view of the city is awesome. It’s a great place, whether you’re in Blumenau for work or fun, and certainly one of the best places to stay.

A simple, clean place to stay in a quiet area while visiting the city. It’s about a 15-minute walk from Blumenau downtown.

I felt exploited. At check-in, they offered us water, and we innocently thought it was complimentary. At checkout they charged us R$ 6,00 for it. At first, they wanted to charge R$ 580,00 for one night, then lowered it to R$ 350,00 because there were only two of us. The owner is extremely rude and has no tact with customers. The room was dirty, including the floor, walls, and ceiling. The bathroom was filthy, with a dirty, smelly shower curtain. The bed and bath linens were old and poorly washed. The mattress was very soft, and I felt disgusted lying on the bed. I stayed just one night because I couldn’t find a hotel during Oktoberfest and this was the only place available in an emergency. Breakfast was dreadful and served after 9:30. The person in charge even complained because one guest ate six slices of bread. What a horrible inn/hostel. I emphatically do NOT recommend it.
