Pousada da Villa

We stayed three days with no electricity in the room. They only promised they would fix it, and there was no room service. The Wi-Fi was poor, and breakfast was limited to a tray waiting in a space without air conditioning that also serves as the restaurant. Since we hadn't booked tours through them, the staff became curt and showed none of the courtesy you'd normally expect from a hotel team. The inn itself is clean and cute, as the photos show, but for the nightly price the service falls badly short. I really regret staying there.

The suite was spacious, tidy, and clean, and the air conditioning worked properly. But the light was out when we arrived at night. The owner said it would be fixed first thing the next morning, but it never was, so we spent all three nights in the dark. Breakfast was very basic with no choices, and there was no room service. The price was far too high for what we got.

We arrived around 7 pm to find the whole village without power. The inn's gate was open, but nobody was there. Two other guests had already been waiting for half an hour, and everything was completely dark, so we left to find another place and had to pay for an extra night elsewhere. I'd been asked to pay in advance because the employee didn't know how to use the card machine. When I called the owner the next day, she was extremely rude and said she wouldn't refund me. Neighbors told us it's common for the inn to have no employee on site. I travel a lot and have never had anything like this happen. If you want a good stay, don't choose this inn.

The hosts were really nice, and breakfast was very good, with everything carefully prepared by the owner. The garden is beautifully maintained, the pool was clean, and the bed and mattress were both very comfortable. Well worth it.
