Pousada Vila D'Itália

Great.

The location and service were excellent, but breakfast was disappointing. Everything was portioned out, so guests couldn't choose how much they wanted. The TV system, Netplay, also didn't work when I got to the room. I contacted technical support on WhatsApp as the pousada instructed, but heard nothing back until the receptionist helped. Even then, the issue wasn't fixed. Support said it was repaired, but after I restarted the TV as instructed, it still didn't work. I contacted them again, and they read my message without replying or taking it seriously. I paid for two nights with TV included, but that wasn't what I got. I arrived at 2:00 p.m., and at 9:27 p.m. I was still sitting there without a TV. I hope other guests don't have the same experience. Then on the second day, while my wife, daughter, and I were lying in the room, a woman came in holding several keys. She was apparently an employee and entered without permission, saying the room was available or empty. Was that really true? We had no privacy. This felt completely disrespectful, and I was shocked by how unsafe and intrusive the place seemed. I honestly can't recommend it.

The place felt like it was falling apart. The shower kept switching between hot and not hot. The sliding door jammed and was hard to open, the toilet lid was crooked, a floor tile in the room was broken, and the door handle kept coming off. The old air conditioner would shut off on its own, and it was mounted so high that it was hard to operate. Breakfast was tightly rationed, with only small amounts. Some items had been wrapped or prepared the day before, and the juice was awful, like powdered drink mix.

The location was great, but the stay was awful. Breakfast was heavily restricted, had little variety, and always featured the same choices. We stayed five days and our bed linens were never changed. Towels were replaced only after we insisted. The old air conditioner was noisy and didn't cool the room, and the faulty TV kept freezing with no fix. The pool wasn't well cared for, and its water was often green. This was the worst place I've stayed. I don't recommend it.
