Hotel Refugio

Top-notch.

Decent.

I have nothing to complain about. The hotel was clean, and breakfast was tasty. Everyone was polite, friendly, and helpful, including the reception staff, Fernando in the morning, Fernando at night, and José Antônio, who were always attentive. The kitchen staff prepare everything with care, and the food is delicious. I have only praise for them all. I’ll always recommend this hotel and will return as soon as I can.

The air conditioning worked well, and the pool was decent, but the hotel is a long way from the town center. Breakfast was acceptable, though it was the same every day, with only watermelon and melon for fruit. The room itself was tiny, with no wardrobe or proper cabinet, just a rail with broken hangers. The bathroom was cramped and the shower barely had any water. Room cleaning only happened if we asked, which is absurd when three people are sharing a room and the bathroom needs attention daily. The toilet paper was very cheap, and the towels and sheets were old, worn, and in some cases torn. On my first day I asked for a pillow, but there was no pillowcase, so they gave me a sheet to wrap around it. I asked for the safe to be opened when I checked in, and reception only remembered on the day we were leaving. The fridge froze whatever we put inside. This is a budget hotel, and it shouldn't be sold by a well-known agency like @azulviagens.
