Zagaia Eco Resort

Everything else was great, but the hot water system needs work. Hot water wasn't available during peak hours.

I had a great time at zagaia and would recommend it to anyone visiting Bonito. The setting is beautiful and surrounded by nature; waking early to see the macaws being fed was amazing. There are plenty of warm pools, and I especially liked the outdoor jacuzzi for watching the sunset. Service was great, and they’ll bring you a drink anywhere, including poolside. Breakfast was plentiful. Still, there’s room to improve. The wifi barely worked most of the time, and even with different connections around the resort, most of them were no good. The rooms feel outdated, with hard mattresses, little decor, and bathrooms that need renovating. It seems geared toward families, and I understand that’s how the resort earns most of its money, but kids running and screaming everywhere made it hard to relax. A pool just for children or another just for adults could make a real difference for couples, friends, or anyone looking for peace and quiet. For the price, I expected better food. I think it’s better to eat outside the resort, since Bonito has great restaurants only 10 minutes away.

The only thing we weren't keen on was dinner. Bonito has plenty of good restaurants, and we recommend trying a "Pacu na brasa" at Juanita. I went in with low expectations after reading the hotel's recent bad reviews, but my family and I had a very nice stay. We spent seven nights across three rooms, one Premium luxo, one suite, and one suite master. All were clean and spacious, with king-size beds and very comfortable mattresses. The hotel has several pools, and the kids had a blast. They also loved the recreation team, especially Tio Xuxa, who almost felt like part of the family. We hope we can return someday if our budget allows.
