It’s a beautiful place and could be great for resting, and at least they had good cold beer. But the food was a truly awful experience, the worst I’ve had. There was no lunch or dinner the day I went, and breakfast was very poor: cold, horrible coffee that my husband doesn’t even drink, so he had plain bread instead. The dry, hard sliced bread and the canjica seemed like leftovers from the owners’ home. I’m not exaggerating, most of the complaints are about the meals. They could at least let guests bring and prepare their own food on days when no meal is available.

The place is beautiful, and the staff are polite and friendly. The breakfast, though, was very disappointing: just French bread, ham, half a slice of mozzarella, coffee, milk, and Nescau. On the last day they didn’t even have Nescau, and I was there with two children. There’s no bottled water available unless you buy it from them. You also can’t bring biscuits, fruit, or other food, and anything they don’t sell comes with a 200 reais corkage fee. The only snack they offer is French fries.

The price is good for what you get, but the service made me uncomfortable. They don’t allow alcohol in the common areas unless you buy it there, and they don’t tell you this in advance. You have to call them to open the gate every time you go out, and they can take a while depending on the hour. The bedroom curtains are sheer, so daylight comes in at dawn.

Such a wonderful inn, simple but really cozy. Camila was so attentive, as were the staff, and the food was perfect. Congratulations to the cook! We’re very happy with our stay and would love to come back.
